This release is a small work of art, an excellently edited CD with several traditional tango tracks, supplemented with selected non-tango compositions and lyrics, which reveals the high level of commitment and deep understanding of the cultural heritage of tango among all those involved.
With this new production, the quintet from France once again presents us with 13 tracks, as they did with their previous CD, when they took us on a tour du monde en tangos, a journey around the world, along the tango. Here, however, we are not traveling geographically, but with 'tanguidad', the defining feelings of tango: loss, forlornness, neediness. At times, we also encounter the surreal and the comical.
This is a CD that should be 'consumed' with care and great attention. And thus seems to have fallen out of time. Exactly what our time needs.
