They just went for it. They observed, or rather listened, to what happened when they improvised freely, without a score, without a specified key, perhaps with a single note as a starting point, but otherwise free, without academic baggage.

Ulrich Grundstein and Wanja Olten met for two days to improvise together and to discover what soundscapes they could explore together with bandoneon and piano. The result is very sensitive music in which the musical dialogue takes center stage.
