Tangos con Armando Moreno

Enrique Rodriguez - that was the bandleader, who liked to venture with his tango orchestra also on the international dance floor. The tango, however, always remained the center of his program. This is also the case with the present compilation, tango interpretations with the singer Armando Moreno. With clear diction, unagitated delivery and a slightly baritonal timbre, Moreno breathes life into the selected tangos.
What he sings and how he sings seems appropriate and coherent throughout, even if Rodriguez's arrangements don't give him room for eye-rolling pathos or sentimental overtones. Perhaps Moreno's art lies precisely in preserving for these instrumentally oriented dance tangos their individual message, their emotional message, despite reduced possibilities.
This combination made the Rodriguez tangos milonga-worthy back then, and it still does today. Even though Armando Moreno raises his voice at some point in each of the 20 tracks here, they are tracks for dancing.
