Already awarded the creole world music prize in 2011, Bändi plays no-frills arrangements of Finnish tango classics.
With new, idiosyncratic arrangements, instrumentation and sounds, they hijack the old folk treasures and blow the dust out of the scores. Melancholy and pleading longing remain as an almost omnipresent basic mood, which 'Bändi' breaks again and again with amusing eccentricity and humor.
