Finally an extensively researched book about the history of the bandonion in Germany has been published. It is thanks to the interested social scientist, geographer, crime writer and musician Dr. Karl-Georg Schroll, who happened to come across a bandonion many years ago while visiting a flea market.
He was immediately fascinated by this instrument, so that in the course of time he had accumulated six moving boxes full of historical documents, which he finally evaluated for this book. There are many questions about the history of the bandonion in Germany, such as: How did this former popularity first blossom, then die out? After all, there were about 30,000 bandonion and concertina players in about 1,200 clubs during the Weimar period. What external conditions and internal causes influenced its history?

For those who want to know more about the history of bandonion, this book gives many answers and explanations. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the author on this exciting and interesting book, which has filled an important gap in the history of bandonion culture in Germany.
