Ahead of their fourth European tour, the duo “El Revire”—featuring renowned bandoneonist Hugo Satorre as a guest musician—recorded their second album, which includes a selection from their touring repertoire spanning several years. The waltzes sound cheerful and festive, just as they are typically played at the peñas in folklore circles. Even in the tangos, there is none of the heaviness and melancholy that is more characteristic of the porteños.
All milongueros who enjoy dancing to more spirited interpretations are sure to enjoy this album, and tango DJs who like to play music by contemporary duos or trios will also be able to put together a tanda or two from it.
