Juan D’Arienzo y su Orquesta Típica cantan Alberto Echagüe, Armano Laborde
Undeniably, Juan D'Arienzo's orchestra enjoys a large tango fan base, especially among dancers who appreciate its clear staccato rhythm.
This compilation from the series '20 Temas' is entirely dedicated to this emblematic style of the Rey de Compás. Inseparably linked to it is Alberto Echagüe, a typical singer of the arrabal, the suburb. Some of the great successes with Echagüe are gathered on this CD.
From 1940 on, D'Arienzo engaged a number of other singers for his orchestra, including Armando Laborde, the voice of the second half of the tangos on this CD. Laborde recorded 145 pieces with D'Arienzo. For true D'Arienzo fans and collectors, compilations of labels each dedicated to a single one of D'Arienzo's singers are more recommended, but as a well-rounded look at his work of the early 1940s, Tango Bravo can still be recommended.
